‘Spirit Guided’ is a portrait of a young Indigenous woman. Trent White Photography captured her with an expression which in turn captured my muse & my heart.
A very strong powerful portrayal of a young woman approaching womanhood, connected to her culture with pride and knowing. She has a very natural way about her and you can see her soul/nature embodied in her face...one feels quite moved by her. She really is beautiful. I hope that I captured all of this in the rendering of the oil painting. The red tailed black cockatoo feathers provide a striking contrast as well as symbolic conveyance of spirit connection between Indigenous people and nature. Red tailed black cockatoo feathers represent powerful spiritual symbols in the Dreaming.’
